iPACES: Memory Lane

iPACES: Memory Lane combines physical and cognitive exercise to slow the effects of cognitive decline in seniors who have early signs of mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Building on the work of Dr. Cay Anderson-Hanley of Union College just over in Schenectady, we developed a more portable prototype that can be used for long term, in-home play by seniors. Built in Unity and played on the iPad, the game connects via Bluetooth to a heart rate monitor and under-desk pedaler, allowing seniors to go on a bike ride and practice cognitive exercise right in the comfort of home. iPACES: Memory Lane is funded by an NIH STTR Phase I grant.
